After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Kibale Forest National Park in western Uganda. Pass rolling hills and quaint towns, capturing the essence of the Ugandan countryside. Upon arrival, settle into your lodge, and enjoy an optional evening walk or cultural performance by the local community.
Today is the highlight of your safari: gorilla trekking! After breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing before trekking through Bwindi’s dense forest in search of mountain gorillas. The trek can last from 2 to 8 hours, but once you encounter the gorillas, the effort will feel entirely worthwhile. Spend an hour observing these majestic creatures before returning to your lodge to unwind.
Leave Bwindi for Lake Bunyonyi, a serene retreat perfect for relaxation. Spend the day exploring the lake’s numerous islands, swimming in its calm waters, or hiking around the surrounding hills for panoramic views. Alternatively, simply unwind and enjoy the tranquility of this beautiful area.
After breakfast, start your journey back to Kampala. Travel through picturesque landscapes, stopping in Mbarara for lunch. Before reaching Kampala, make a final stop at the Mbambire drum makers’ point for some last-minute souvenir shopping. Upon arrival in Kampala, transfer to Entebbe Airport for your flight back home, concluding your unforgettable Ugandan adventure.
